Description
Our amazing hallmarked silver ‘hob nob’ beakers are a truly unique gift. Made to resemble a wine barrel, the two equal parts become separated in the middle to reveal 2 beautiful beakers. Hobnob beakers were first made in the 18th century, to enable men to play a drinking game – where two gentlemen would continue to toast one another with drinks in equal sized measurements until one capitulated! Despite it’s humorous origins, the two cups make a wonderful gift for various occasions as they are a lasting symbol of an equal partnership. The cups are made in sterling silver, have beautiful mirror polishing and a rich gold gilt lined interior. They are perfect for engraving and are presented in one of our signature gift boxes. For maintenance purposes, the piece should be washed in hot soapy water straight after use, and cleaned with a soft cloth. To prevent the silver from tarnishing, use an impregnated silver cloth, or alternatively a recommended silver polish with a soft cloth.
